A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the Geronimo Blanket supports the Arizona Historical Society, with some of the funds being given to the Chiricahua Warm Springs Tribe and the Mescalero Apache Tribe.
Founded in 1884, the Society is dedicated to the preservation of Arizona's history. The reality of Geronimo's life is revealed in an exhibit entitled Geronimo and the Chiricahua Apache Experience which is at the Papago Park Marley Center in Tempe, Arizona for a year opening January 23, 1996. It will be in Tucson, Arizona for 6 months after that and then will travel to museums around the United States.
